Life is highly important to God
Psalm 24 and Psalm 107
God says this life we live on earth, although fleeting, is highly important to Him. It is our responsibility to value life and to protect the innocent.
God says it is our responsibility to protect life
9“Pray then, in this way: Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.”
God’s kingdom is the kingdom of life. The Lord said that He came that we might have life, and have life to the full.
From Noah onward, God is very interested in policing the earth
5“Surely I will require your lifeblood; from every beast I will require it. And from every man, from every man’s brother I will require the life of man. 6Whoever sheds man’s blood, By man his blood shall be shed, For in the image of God He made man. 7As for you, be fruitful and multiply; Populate the earth abundantly and multiply in it.”
33But he said to Him, “Lord, with you I am ready to go both to prison and to death!” 34And He said, “I say to you, Peter, the rooster will not crow today until you have denied three times that you know Me.” 35And He said to them, “When I sent you out without money belt and bag and sandals, you did not lack anything, did you?” They said, “No, nothing.” 36And He said to them, “But now, whoever has a money belt is to take it along, likewise also a bag, and whoever has no sword is to sell his coat and buy one.” 37“For I tell you that this which is written must be fulfilled in Me, ‘AND HE WAS NUMBERED WITH TRANSGRESSORS’; for that which refers to Me has its fulfillment.” 38 They said, “Lord, look, here are two swords.” And He said to them, “It is enough.”
Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men.
Defending lives and animals and property is right in God’s sight because He values all of them. Defending lives is not evil, but good in God’s sight. Allowing evil to have its way is evil, not good. It is always evil to not defend life and resist lawlessness, even at the cost of one’s own life.
Fathers are to protect their families and the state must protect the right to do so
1 Timothy 5:8
But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
It is our responsibility to hold the governing authorities accountable to protect and defend life
God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.
Blessed be the LORD, my rock, Who trains my hands for war, And my fingers for battle;
‘Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you will be tested, and you will have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.’
